Leading Run scorers From India Against Australia

The One-Day International series between India and Australia will get off on November 27 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. This series will mark the comeback of Virat Kohli and the rest of India’s team in international cricket.

After the one-day international series is over, there will be three Twenty20 Internationals played, and then on December 17, the first of four Tests will begin at the Adelaide Oval using a pink ball.

While Virat Kohli returns to India after the first Test to celebrate the birth of his child, India will attempt to defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane. In the meanwhile, Bangladesh will aim to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Both nations have been characterised by a great deal of individual brilliance as the level of rivalry between them has increased from one season to the next and from one year to the next. And one can witness this great rivalry via India vs Australia highlights.

Cheteshwar Pujara was awarded the title of Man of the Series for the Test series that was played in 2018–19. He was given this honour due to the fact that he scored 521 runs during the course of seven innings. In response, Steve Smith scored 229 runs at an outstanding average of 114.50 in the three One-Day Internationals that were played in India this year. His total runs were scored in the One-Day Internationals.

Take a look at these top three Indian batsmen who have scored runs against Australia in all forms of the game throughout the course of their careers.

#3: VVS Laxman (3,173 runs in 73 innings)

A youngster who grew up in the ’90s will forever remember VVS Laxman as the player who saved India’s cricket team during a match against Australia. Not only did Laxman like competing against his fellow Australians, but he also did extremely well against the athletes who were now holding the title of world champion.

The monumental 281 not out scored by VVS Laxman at Eden Gardens was the spark that ignited India’s comeback from a large disadvantage, which finally resulted in the team’s victory.

On the other side, the right-hander notched his maiden hundred in a test match against the same opposition in the year 2000 at the SCG.

VVS Laxman would go on to dominate the Australians for the foreseeable future, hitting 10 of his 17 test centuries and four of his six hundreds in one-day internationals during this time period.

In point of fact, he hit another hundred runs when playing against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla in 2008. VVS Laxman scored a total of 3,173 runs throughout the course of 73 innings (at an average of 48.81), with 10 hundreds, 14 fifties, and just 3 ducks in his total tally.

#2 Virat Kohli (4,098 runs in 87 innings)

In Perth, Australia, during India’s visit in 2018/19, Virat Kohli scored 123 runs. The continent of Australia, sometimes known as “Down Under”

It is possible to argue that Indian captain Virat Kohli’s career in the Test format got off to a sluggish beginning; yet, ever since that point, he has been unbeatable. At the Adelaide Oval, in January of 2012, a courageous 116 was the spark that set everything in motion.

Since India’s humiliating defeat of 4-0 in Australia in 2012/13, Virat Kohli has scored six hundreds against Australia in Test matches, with five of them hundreds coming while playing away from home.

Despite this, his 2014–2015 season was his finest, as he scored a total of 692 runs over four Tests, including four hundreds and two centuries in Adelaide.

Virat Kohli has been just as fearsome when playing in bright colours as the Australians have been when they are wearing their usual whites. As seen by his record-breaking performance of 100* off 52 balls in Jaipur (the fastest ODI hundred by an Indian) and his breathtaking 82* off 51 deliveries that catapulted India into the semi-finals of the 2016 T20 World Cup, Kohli has become a maestro of run chases.

In 87 innings played against Australia, Virat Kohli has scored a total of 4,098 runs, including 15 hundreds and 18 half-centuries, for an incredible average of 53.22 runs per innings.\

#1 Sachin Tendulkar (6,707 runs in 144 innings)

It was Sachin Tendulkar who smashed the famous six off of Shane Warne. There is little question that Sachin Tendulkar is towards the very top of the list when it comes to batting records in cricket. Even though he hasn’t played a single Twenty20 match for India, he still owns the record for the most runs scored by an Indian against Australia. This record stands even though he hasn’t played a single Twenty20 match.

Tendulkar’s meteoric rise to stardom in Australia began at the early age of 18, when he scored 148* at the SCG and a brilliant 114 at the WACA in Perth, which at the time was the fastest surface in the world.

In 1998, he hit twin hundreds in Sharjah to help India win the Coca-Cola Cup. This helped him recover considerable media recognition when he was playing for India and wearing their blue uniforms.

Sachin Tendulkar had a plan to get even with those dogged Australians, and he executed it flawlessly. By resisting the urge to play through the off-side, he was able to get the astounding score of 241* at the SCG in the year 2004.

Because they were so crucial, many fans will remember his punches long after the final score has been forgotten and long after they have been forgotten. Even though it was scored in a losing effort, Tendulkar’s innings of 175 in Hyderabad is largely considered to be one of the best one-day international innings of all time. This is despite the fact that Tendulkar’s team ultimately lost the match.

Over the span of 13 years, Sachin Tendulkar faced 144 times in the batter’s box against Australia. He amassed a total of 6,707 runs at an average of 49.68. (20 hundreds and 31 fifties).
